Celebrity barman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The socialite shared a video of himself at the party’s Imo State secretariat, where he revealed his plans to party officials.
In an accompanying caption, he announced his bid to represent Oru East, Orsu and Orlu federal constituency in Imo State in the 2027 House of Representatives election.
He said he had informed party leaders of his ambition and that they had promised their support.
“Stopped by our great party, APC, state secretariat to congratulate and encourage our state working committee on their emergence. Above all, I made known to them my humble aspiration to represent my people, the good people of Orsu, Orlu and Oru East Federal Constituency, at the House of Representatives,” he said.
“Na God get power; let the will of God be done. From our party women’s mouths to the mouth of God.”
In the footage, one of the party leaders described him as a versatile figure and praised his contributions to the group.
“I don’t know if you’re a motivational speaker, a businessman, or a politician; you fit into all of them. In the short time we were involved in the City Boy movement, you could see the light you brought into the place,” he said.
“You are very proud to be associated with the party; you speak about it proudly, and I’m sure that will speak for you. And we will support you.”
In recent times, Cubana Chief Priest has been vocal in his support for the current government and the ruling party led by President Bola Tinubu.
He was also appointed Imo director of the City Boy Movement, a youth support group linked to Tinubu’s political base.
Cubana Chief Priest’s current alignment with the APC marks a shift from his position during the 2023 general election, when he publicly showed support for Labour Party candidate Peter Obi.
