Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has announced that he has purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
Jandor disclosed this in a social media post on Wednesday.
He said the move was in line with the party’s current position on direct primaries for elective offices.
“In line with the official and current position of the party on direct primaries, I have taken the significant step of formally picking up my Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the forthcoming elections,” he said.
Jandor said he respects party leaders who have endorsed other aspirants but would continue to follow the party’s official process.
“While I respect the decisions of some of our elders and party leaders endorsing aspirants of their choice, I am guided by the official position of the party on direct primaries as communicated to all party members and aspirants alike,” he said.
He added that if the party adopts another method allowed under the Electoral Act, he would accept the decision.
“Should the party come up with the second option of nominating party candidates as enshrined in the Electoral Act 2026, I will align and respect the supremacy of the party,” he said.
Jandor said his decision to contest was based on what he described as the need to address challenges facing Lagos State and contribute to democratic growth.
“My decision to proceed on this path is therefore anchored in a clear understanding of the challenges before us, and an even clearer resolve to contribute meaningfully to deepening our democracy and advance our shared aspirations for a better society,” he said.
He also thanked supporters who contributed financially towards the purchase of the forms, including members of the JAGABAN–JANDOR 2027 Movement and young Lagos residents.
Jandor reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and acknowledged party leaders in Lagos State for their guidance.
He said his governorship ambition is based on unity, inclusion and continuity of governance under the APC platform.
