COVID-19: Lagos shuts Landmark Event Centre, Lekki Waterside, 10 others

Lagos State Government has closed 12 facilities in the state for flouting COVID-19 regulations concerning social and recreational centers.

Lagos State Safety Commission led by its director-general Lanre Mojola shut down Landmark Event Centre, DNA Night Club, Buzz Bar, Silverfox, Cocoon, Westend Nightclub, Rumours, Lekki Waterside, The Wave Beach club among others.

Mojola said the establishments who broke the government’s seal and continued partying would be charged to court once documentation has been properly processed.

He affirmed the government’s commitment to curbing the spread of COVID-19, saying it would leave no stone unturned to achieve the mandate.

The commission had earlier shut down Cubana, The Corner, 355 Restaurant and Night Club among others in an operation which started on December 19, 2020.

‌Mojola advised the general public to observe the necessary safety precautions as they go about celebrating Christmas.
