Covid-19: Emir of Daura suspends daughter’s wedding

Emir of Daura, Umar Farouk, has suspended the wedding of his daughter and all gatherings in Daura emirate due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The emir announced the suspension on Saturday at his palace in Daura.

His daughter’s wedding had been scheduled for March 28.

The monarch addressed religious leaders, district heads, village heads and the public to practice good hygiene and distancing.

He said the development was part of the emirate’s efforts to protect the people.

According to him, all activities, including Islamic schools, sports, social gatherings are suspended until further notice.
