Cecilia Ibru returns to social scene at Ovation Carol

Cecilia Ibru

Former managing director and chief executive officer of the defunct Oceanic Bank, Cecilia Ibru, on Sunday attended the 2019 Ovation Carol at Eko Hotel and Suites.

Mrs Ibru, who was jailed in 2009 after pleading guilty to charges of fraud and fined approximately one billion euros, has been absent from the social scene until her appearance at the Ovation Carol.

In an interview in May with The Punch, Cecilia said she has been in the education sector, building the university which she and her late husband, Michael, who died in 2016, started.

Dressed in bright colours, other high-profile personalities and professionals graced the Ovation Carol hosted by the publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mr Momodu’s benefactor, Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi, was all smiles in her customary dress.
