Nollywood actor, Kayode Odumosu, better known as Pa Kasumu, has died after a protracted illness.

He was 66.

The actor died on Sunday afternoon.

Actress, Foluke Daramola-Salako, broke the sad news in an Instagram post.

Foluke had in December launched what she tagged Nolly Veteran SOS Project 2019, described as a lifeline for ailing and aging Nollywood veterans.

Pa Kasumu, Sadiq Daba, Barbara Soky, Baba Wande, Peter Fatomilola, Iya Awero, Iya Rainbow and Lere Paimo were named as some of the beneficiaries of the project.

Speaking in an interview with PUNCH newspapers, Pa Kasumu said his illness was spiritual.

“For now, I don’t need any help. All I need is prayer. All I can say about my sickness is that it is spiritual. That’s why I said it requires prayer,” he said.

I’m currently at a church camp for its annual congress. God should take care of me. I will stay at the camp till the congress ends.”

The actor also dismissed reports that his illness was caused by excessive smoking and drinking.

His death on March 1, 2020, came 15 days to what would have been his 67th birthday.
