Bolanle Austen-Peters’ Wire Wire selected for Paris NollywoodWeek Festival

Filmmaker Bolanle Austen-Peters’ thriller Wire Wire has been selected for the 2026 edition of the NollywoodWeek Film Festival in Paris, France.

Actress Lilian Afegbai, a member of the cast, expressed excitement over the news on Instagram on Friday.

Wire Wire is a crime thriller that follows characters navigating crime, survival and personal choices in an urban setting. The film stars Bucci Franklin in a lead role, alongside Lilian and other cast members including Bisola Aiyeola, Toke Makinwa and Olarotimi Fakunle.

The film has also gained attention on the festival circuit. It was previously selected for the Joburg Film Festival, where it screened as part of the official lineup.

Directed and produced by Austen-Peters, Wire Wire continues her work in drama and socially themed storytelling, following projects such as Collision Course and Man of God.

The 2026 NollywoodWeek Film Festival will bring together filmmakers and audiences to showcase Nigerian films on an international stage.
