Actor Saidi Balogun on Thursday led a walk organised by the Remi Tinubu Support Organisation (RETSO) and its partners in support of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
The event, described as the RETSO Renewed Hope Walk, brought together supporters and members of the Progressive Coalition. Actor Dele Fagboyo was among those who joined the procession.
Speaking during the walk, Saidi said, “We are doing this for Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027. This is Remi Tinubu support organization.”
At a press briefing held alongside the event, he added, “We are here for Renewed Hope Walk and press conference for RETSO and Progressive Coalition. And we want to, we are here to tell Nigerians, take it easy and be patient. Again, all we need is orientation and the news. You must know the full truth. So RETSO and Progressive Coalition, we are to educate people, enlightening them more about the job of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And that’s what we are here for. Again, in this coming 2027, we are here to tell them they have started a lot of projects that he must complete them. That’s the reason we want to vote for him. And before we judge anybody–There are some corrections that cannot, that cannot happen in a day. Please, everybody, I am begging, please, let’s vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2027. Please vote for him. I mean, he has started a project. We should all put our heads together, join hands together to make sure he completes the project.”
RETSO, named after the First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, is one of several groups promoting the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda. The walk forms part of ongoing mobilisation efforts by supporters who argue that the president should be given more time to complete policies and projects initiated during his first term.
Saidi has in recent years been vocal about political participation, occasionally lending his voice to civic and campaign activities. His appearance at the walk reflects a growing trend of entertainers taking public positions on political issues, especially in the lead up to election cycles.
The Renewed Hope Walk is expected to be followed by similar engagements aimed at rallying support and shaping public opinion ahead of 2027.
