Former Big Brother Naija season 10 housemate Thelma Lawson has opened up about her decision to reject fellow housemate Rooboy’s romantic proposal during their time on the reality show.
Speaking on the final episode of the BBNaija reunion aired on Friday night, Thelma said Rooboy was not the kind of person she wanted around her son.
According to her, his tattoos, loud personality and career as a hypeman influenced her decision not to pursue a relationship with him.
She also questioned his spelling ability, saying they could remain friends but nothing beyond that.
“Rooboy could not even spell correctly. I do not want him around my son. He is too loud and his tattoo are not the lifestyle that I want. We can be friends, just friends,” she said.
Thelma further alleged that Rooboy became upset after the rejection and began describing her as a bitter person.
Responding to the claim, Rooboy confirmed that he had expressed interest in dating her but denied being angry over her decision.
“I told Thelma that I liked her and would like to date her. I was talking to Otega as a brother not knowing he was also in the picture,” he said.
The discussion revisited one of the relationship storylines from the 2025 edition of Big Brother Naija. During the show, Rooboy openly expressed interest in Thelma, but she made it clear that she did not see him as a romantic partner.
The reunion episode marked the end of the season 10 reunion series, where housemates returned to discuss unresolved disagreements, friendships and relationships that shaped their time in the house.
