Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Odiolowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area of Lagos, Ganiu Adebisi, has died after a brief illness.

The 73-year-old died on Tuesday morning, thegazellenews.com reports.

He will be buried in his house in Ijoko later in the day.

The late Adebisi was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before joining the APC.

He was a member of the defunct Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN) during the era of the military dictator, Sani Abacha.

Adebisi was chairman of the council’s Community Development Committee (CDC) for many years before becoming Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA APC chair.

He was also a prominent member of the Primrose group which supported the governorship ambition of Dapo Sarumi.

Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, Razaq Ajala, expressed sorrow at Adebisi’s demise.

“His passion shone through in everything he did, from his efforts to steer the affairs of the party and his tireless championing of the Community Development Committee in our local council and the stay in general,” he said.
