Ambode summons emergency security meeting over kidnappings

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has summoned an emergency meeting with heads of all security agencies.

It was gathered that the emergency meeting would hold at Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja.

The meeting comes barely 48 hours after director of the state fire service, Rasaki Musibau, was kidnapped along Itoikin-Epe Road, Ikorodu on Saturday night.

PM News quoted a top government official as saying: “Yes, the governor is worried with the latest kidnapping and has summoned an emergency security meeting. At this stage, I can’t give too much details on the ongoing operation but the governor has ordered the concerned security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.”

Besides Mr Musibau, those abducted are a management staff of the Fire Service, Mufutau Adams; Funmilayo Adelumo, Asiogu Martha, Lasisi Muka, and two others.

The police have said they had intensified patrols and surveillance along Itoikin-Epe road, Ketu, Ereyun and other major highways in the state.
