This was contained in a statement signed by the National President, Emeka Rollas, which was shared on the official Instagram page of the guild on Tuesday.

The statement read, “The National President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, acting in strict adherence to the ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of the dreaded coronavirus, directed all members of the AGN to quit all production sets with immediate effect till the situation improves. The president directs the AGN National Task Force to lockdown all production sets where members are involved across the country to ensure the protection of members from the dreaded COVID-19 virus…”

The National President of the AGN, Emeka Rollas, had on Friday revealed that the guild may consider cancelling movie production over the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are talking to producers to see how they can hold off in terms of a movie production for three weeks,” he said.

The former president of the guild’s Abuja chapter, Agility Onwurah, also advised movie producers to cancel movie production as they cannot afford to put the health of their crew at risk at this time.
