Senator Babafemi Ojudu

Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Babafemi Ojudu, says Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has tested negative for coronavirus (COVID-19).

Mr Ojudu, a former senator for the Ekiti Central constituency, disclosed the test result on Facebook on Wednesday.

“Vice President Yemi Osinbajo tests negative,” he simply wrote.

Prof Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, had announced on Tuesday that the nation’s number two citizen had gone into self-isolation as advised by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

“VP Osinbajo yesterday (Monday) at the office conducted his meetings via video conferencing, while observing social distancing. Today, he continues his work from the home office, as he is in self-isolation in accordance with NCDC protocols,” Mr Akande said in a tweet.
