Actress Iya Ile Okan dies weeks after Kunle Afod’s appeal for assistance

Veteran actress Iya Ile Okan has died.

Actor Kunle Afod announced her death in an Instagram post, sharing a photo of him and the deceased.

He wrote: “We finally lost her. May her perfect soul continue to rest in peace. It’s a final wrap.”

Kunle had earlier called for help for the ailing actress when he visited her at her home in Ogun State.

At the time, he appealed to the public for support, saying, “Iya Ile Okan really needs God’s intervention.”

Her death has sparked tributes from colleagues and fans who described her as a talented performer and mother figure in the Yoruba movie industry.

Details about her age, cause of death were not disclosed as of press time.

Iya Ile Okan appeared in several Yoruba films and was respected for her ability to portray traditional roles.

Kunle Afod, known for supporting veteran actors, has continued to use his platform to draw attention to the struggles of aged entertainers battling health and financial challenges.

In recent times, several Nollywood veterans have also appealed for help over health-related issues.
