Yvonne Jegede becomes ‘grandma’

Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, has labelled herself a ‘grandma’ following the birth of a child by fellow actress Lydia Lawrence-Eze.

The 36-year-old, who was thrust into limelight after starring in 2Face Idibia’s ‘African Queen’ video, posted a picture of Lydia and her daughter Mercedes on Instagram on Thursday.

She jokingly referred to herself as the baby’s grandmother, saying: “You people should come and help me give thanks to God ooo, Baba you are too much, I am now a grandma. My very strong and courageous baby has given me the most beautiful granddaughter ever. Chai, lord I am on my knees with tears in my eyes. I say we give you prise…”

Fellow actresses, Belinda Effah, Uche Ogbodo and Oma Nnadi also congratulated the new mother in the comments’ section of the post.

The baby was born in Canada.

Yvonne Jegede has a son named Xavier, born in 2018 to her and Olakunle Fawole. Her marriage to Olakunle ended in 2019 after just two years.
