Asisat was named African Women’s Player of the Year 2019 at the CAF Awards Gala held on January 7 in Cairo, Egypt.

She became just the second woman to win the prize for the fourth time after seeing off challenge from Cameroon’s Ajara Nchout and South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana.

Former Nigeria international, Perpetua Nkwocha, is the first female player to achieve the feat.
