Grace Makun, wife of fashion designer Yomi Casual, has suggested that late actor Alexx Ekubo was married.
In a tribute shared after news of the actor’s death, Grace mentioned his “wife” among the people who would miss him.
She expressed regret that those close to him respected the privacy he maintained instead of pushing harder to know what he was going through.
Grace wrote, “I can’t explain this.
No, it’s not ok.
I wish we hadn’t listened to you and had broken down the wall of privacy you had built; burn it, no matter how many times you put it up.
Your buys are not ok o.
Ikuku, your buys are not okay.
Your buys are not ok at all, Alex.
Your parents, siblings, wife, gang, colleagues, fans ahhhh.
“My boyzzz.
Your bond even makes me, as a wife dey jealous of you guys.
We love you, Ikuku.
I just want to hug my hubby. Oh, chim o”.”
Alexx’s death was announced on Tuesday, sparking reactions from colleagues and fans across Nollywood. Reports said the actor died at a hospital in Lagos after a private battle with cancer.
The actor was known to share a close friendship with Yomi Casual and actor IK Ogbonna. The trio were often seen together at events, on vacations and in social media posts, where fans regularly described them as friendship goals. They were also popularly referred to online as the “Chop Life Gang.”
Before his death, Alexx was engaged to US based model Fancy Acholonu. The actor proposed to her in May 2021 and the couple announced plans to marry later that year.
However, in August 2021, Fancy announced that she had ended the relationship and called off the wedding.
She wrote at the time, “Hey guys, I am writing to inform you all officially that I have ended my relationship and engagement and I have called off the wedding with Alexx Ekubo.”
The breakup generated widespread reactions online, with both parties later appealing for privacy. In December 2022, Fancy publicly apologised to the actor over how the separation was handled.
