Wumi Toriola celebrates son’s birthday, recounts infertility ordeal

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has narrated how she battled infertility in her marriage before her ‘miraculous conception.

The actress who also celebrated her son’s birthday in an Instagram post on Wednesday stated that after her wedding, she and her husband decided to rest for some period before having a child.

However, when the resting period was over and she could not conceive for six months which left her worried, she opted for a fertility hospital alongside her husband to find the cause of their infertility.

According to Wumi, the doctor confirmed that she and her husband are medically okay. She, however, decided to undergo an intrauterine insemination procedure which was unsuccessful. After considering in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), she ‘miraculously’ took in.

“I think it’s about time to tell my little story and this is to encourage someone. I wanted to rest after marriage before conception and boom ‘my supposed rest’ finished, no conception. I didn’t see it as a problem until someone said ‘na so e easy, shebi she don dey married, she never get belle’. As the playful person I am, it didn’t hit until 6 months passed. Then it started to dawn on me.

“Voooooom I flew to fertility hospital but the annoying thing is ‘you need to go with your partner’. Choi, that was a tough one because it sure sends signals like ‘abi she don commot her womb before? Long story cut short, I was told there was no issue that it would come but eager me won’t hear, I had IUI 2 times, the last one, I started having funny symptoms of pregnancy, even without a test I thought I was pregnant and was unnecessarily careful. One month passed, I did a test, alas no conception… I was mad with myself,30 days of injection and ‘hardwork’ again,” she wrote.

The actress also prayed for her child as she celebrated his 2nd birthday.

“Happy birthday my sunshine. You will live long to declare the glory of the Lord. You shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. You will bear fruit in your season. Happy birthday Zion Fajobi,” she wrote.
