Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has received his certificate of return as governor-elect of the state.
Ugwuanyi, alongside his deputy Cecilia Ezeilo, and other elected members of the state Assembly were given their certificates of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday.
State resident electoral commissioner, Emeka Ononammadu, said at the ceremony: “It was a tortuous journey that did not come at zero cost but it is also a journey that the entire nation is poised to learn from Enugu.”
Spokesman of INEC, Festus Okoye, who was also present at the ceremony, said the commission would push for constitutional and electoral reforms to improve electoral process in the country.
