The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has condoled with Enugu State commissioner for information and communication Dr Malachy Agbo over the death of his mother Laurita Agbo.
The commissioner announced in a statement on Sunday that his mother died on Friday, May 8 at Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu, after a brief illness.
Agbo described the late Mrs Agbo as “a devoted Catholic, compassionate mother, and a pillar of strength to her family and the wider community.”
He said she was known for her humility, generosity and commitment to helping others, especially in Ohodo community and Amufi village.
According to the statement, family members, friends and community leaders paid tribute to her for her peaceful nature, faith and dedication to the welfare of others.
Agbo also thanked those who had supported the family since her passing and said funeral arrangements would be announced later.
In a condolence message signed by GOCOP president Danlami Nmodu and general secretary Sufuyan Ojeifo, the guild said it received the news “with profound sadness.”
“We join you, your family, and the people of Ohodo community and Amufi village in mourning the loss of a matriarch whose life was defined by humility, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to the service of humanity,” the statement read.
GOCOP said the late Mrs Agbo’s legacy of kindness and service would continue to be remembered.
“We pray that the Almighty God grants Mrs Laurita Nwakaego Agbo eternal rest and gives you, the Agbo family, and all who mourn the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the guild added.
