Nigerians have taken to Twitter to mock the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) allowance popularly known as allawee as music superstar, Davido, begins his national service.

Davido announced on Tuesday that he has decided to serve his fatherland as he has joined the NYSC batch B programme after three years of graduation.

The Babcock University graduate took to Instagram to share a picture of himself dressed in the NYSC Khaki uniform.

In the post, the 25-year-old revealed that he is tying up every loose end.

Nigerians took to Twitter to berate the stipend, 19,800, given to corp members at end of each month for the duration of the service year.

Some wondered what use the money will be for the self-proclaimed ‘Omo baba olowo’ (son of a rich man). While others clamored for the increase of the allowance.
