Abigail Bakare, mother of overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has died at the age of 108.

The death occurred on Saturday afternoon in Lagos.

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and former Lagos Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Jimi Agbaje, paid a condolence visit to Pastor Bakare at his Lagos home on Sunday.

“Mama Bakare is reputed to have had a profound influence in the life of famous activist pastor as documented in numerous anecdotes, tributes and testaments of Bakare in the past three decades of passionate ‘pulpiteering’,” journalist and media tutor, Femi Akintunde- Johnson wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday.

Bakare has said in the past that his mother helped him in raising his children.

The clergyman turned politician is reported to have given his mother all the love and care she deserved before she died.

Known for producing quality African tie and dye fabrics, Mrs Bakare is survived by her only son, grandchildren and other relatives.
