#TosynLivesOn The other tribute to Tosyn I shared during the church funeral service : ‘Tosyn was a very religious person, and she practised in her own way. She would not go to church or see a pastor every Sunday, but always had God in her heart and thoughts. She would pray every morning for herself, myself, the people she loved and virtually all the people in the world. I, in return, was not a religious person at all. While I’ve always believed in God, my religious path has not been straightforward. But I always respected her moments with God. Church gave us 3 of my best memories with Tosyn. 1. What she told me once was the most beautiful gift I ever gave her. We had discussed how she always wished she could go more to church. So I surprised her one Sunday morning and told her to get ready and dress nicely as I was taking her out for lunch somewhere special. Which I did, after taking her to her church. It made her so happy. 2. When we got married religiously. It was a very special moment only 3 of us know about, very secret, in a way that created a very strong link between our families. It made us so happy. 3. When we had catholic church blessings during the our wedding in Corsica in the church of Santa Maria di Lota, a church that means so much to my family. It made me so happy. And then, Monday last week, it happened. And on top of being sad, I was angry. I was very angry at her. For leaving us behind, lonely, without her. And I was wondering if I could forgive her. It took a lot, but I did. I was very angry at God. For letting her go, taking her away from us and so soon, leaving us with so many unanswered questions. And I was wondering if I could ever forgive him. It took a lot, but I did. Over the last few days, I’ve read a lot, heard a lot, learnt a lot. The amount of love we received has been overwhelming. And I decided to embrace this love. I’ve started praying on my own, for Tosyn, for myself, for my family, my friends, etc. And I find joy and comfort in it. So this might be your legacy, an everlasting memory of you and the best gift you could ever give me: reconciling me with God. I will continue to pray. Thank you, Tosyn.’
