In the early hours of Saturday, the show’s official Instagram page shared a tribute to the late actor, who played the character Lazlow.
The post read, “Today, the Tinsel family mourns one of our own.
Temisan Okomi, who played Lazlow, will be deeply missed.
“His presence, his work, and the moments he shared with us will always stay.
We hold his loved ones in our thoughts during this time.
Rest in peace, Sir.”
Radio station Classic FM Nigeria also mourned in a statement.
It read, “With the heaviest of hearts, we regret to announce the passing of one of our staff, Temisan Okomi, following a brief illness.
“Until his passing, Temisan was the Group Head of the Sports Department. He was a valued member of our team whose contributions and presence will be deeply missed.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this most difficult time.
Signed,
Management”
Temisan was known to audiences for his role in Tinsel, one of Nigeria’s longest running television dramas. Beyond acting, he built a career in broadcasting, working in sports media and rising to a leadership role at Classic FM.
He died on Friday after a brief illness, according to his employer. Reports indicate he fell ill earlier in the week, with some suggesting he suffered an asthma attack before being taken to hospital, where he later died.
Aside from his role in Tinsel, Temisan also appeared in other screen productions and was regarded as a familiar face in Nigeria’s entertainment and media space.
