Timi Dakolo faces legal threat after calling out Tinubu’s aide over unpaid job

Singer Timi Dakolo is at the center of a public dispute with O’tega Ogra, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Digital Strategy, Engagement and Communications, over an alleged unpaid job.

The controversy started after Dakolo called out Ogra on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, claiming the presidential aide had refused to pay him for work he had completed and was ignoring his calls.

In his post, Timi wrote, “Mr @otegaogra please pick your calls. I did my job.”

Ogra responded, warning the singer not to personalize the matter and emphasising that it was institutional.

He said, “I see and have noted the commentary. I will not engage in explication where none is required. My record is public and stands on its merits. Any further attempt to personalise a clearly institutional matter will be met with formal correction and the appropriate professional and legal redress.”

The exchange has sparked online debate. While some fans have defended Dakolo, others advised caution when confronting public officials.
