Terrorists threaten to abduct Buhari, El-Rufai

Terrorists have issued a threat to President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, vowing to take them captive.

The threat comes amid worsening insecurity in Nigeria. Recently, terrorists attacked the presidential media team on its way to Daura in Katsina, Buhari’s hometown.

One of the gunmen, who kidnapped Abuja-Kaduna train passengers on March 28, made the threat in a video which went viral on social media on Sunday.

The unidentified man said they would also go after prominent people and destabilise the country if the government does not pay ransom for the freedom of the passengers.

He also threatened to kill and sell off some of the remaining passengers in their custody.

“This is our message to the government of Nigeria and just as you have seen these people here, by God’s grace, you will see your leaders; your senators and governors will come before us.

“These ones you are seeing here, we will keep some as our slaves and sell them off just as our Imam told you in the past.

“Just like the Chibok girls that were sold off, we will equally sell these ones as slaves. If you don’t adhere to our demands, we will kill the ones we need to kill and sell the remaining.

“By God’s grace, El-Rufai, Buhari, we will bring you here,” the man said.

The terrorists killed eight on the day of the attack and kidnapped no fewer than 61 passengers.
