Taaooma kneels to honour Julius Agwu, Bovi at comedy awards ceremony

Skitmaker and content creator Mariam Apaokagi, popularly known as Taaooma, has paid respect to comedians Julius Agwu and Bovi at the 4th edition of The Humour Awards Africa 2026.

The event took place on Sunday, at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, and brought together comedians, skit makers and other entertainers from across the country.

The ceremony, themed “Create Your Chance,” focused on celebrating achievements in comedy and digital content creation across Africa. It featured performances, award presentations and appearances from both established and upcoming entertainers.

A video shared online on Monday showed Taaooma kneeling to greet Julius Agwu and Bovi, who were seated at the event. The gesture attracted attention on social media after it surfaced.

Julius Agwu is a veteran comedian, actor and event host who played a major role in the growth of stand up comedy in the country in its early years.

Bovi is a comedian, actor and filmmaker known for his stand up comedy specials and work in film and television, and remains one of the prominent figures in modern Nigerian comedy.

The Humour Awards Africa continues to recognise individuals contributing to comedy and digital entertainment across the continent, highlighting both industry veterans and new generation creators.
