Super Eagles stars showed their solidarity with two of their own as they reportedly made heart-warming donations towards the forthcoming weddings of Elderson Echiejile and Daniel Akpeyi.

Goalkeeper Akpeyi, who plays for Chippa United in South Africa, will walk down the aisle with his bride on December 29 in Abiriba, Abia State.

Defender Echiejile, on loan at Belgian club Standard Liege from Monaco, will exchange vows the following day in Warri, Delta State.

Both players featured for 90 minutes as the Eagles thrashed Algeria 3-1 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

According to reports, each member of the team, who received a match bonus of N350,000, contributed N50,000 towards the upcoming wedding of their colleagues.

Akpeyi, 30, has made three appearances for the Super Eagles and was also part of the Dream Team VI squad that clinched bronze last summer at the Rio Olympics.

Echiejile, who is two years younger, on the other hand, has over 50 caps for the three-time African champions since making his debut in 2009.

He was also part of the victorious team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
