Activist Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho has discredited reports suggesting he was arrested by the Department of State Services.

The activist escaped on Thursday when DSS operatives raided his house in Ibadan, Oyo State capital. Two of his guards were killed, 13 arrested while one DSS official was injured.

However, an online news medium reported on Friday night that Sunday Igboho was apprehended by the DSS at the Sat Guru Maharaj Ji camp and had been taken to Abuja.

In a recorded voice message played during a Facebook live session by his media aide Olayomi Koiki, the activist denied being in DSS custody.

Speaking in Yoruba, he said, “Good evening my fans. I thank you all. My name is Sunday Igboho and today is July 2 , 2021. I have been hearing that they have arrested me at Guru Maharaj Ji. It is a lie. I was not at Guru Maharaj Ji. I am in my house in Ibadan and nobody arrested me.”

Sunday Igboho had also insisted the Yoruba Nation rally scheduled to hold in Lagos on Saturday would go on.
