Southampton urged to sign Iheanaco instead of Walcott

Kelechi Iheanacho Leicester City

Southampton fans have pleaded with the club’s hierarchy to go all out for Kelechi Iheanacho rather than Theo Walcott.

Both players are facing uncertain futures at Leicester City and Arsenal respectively.

While the Englishman who began his career at the St Mary’s is the board’s preferred choice, the faithful think otherwise.

Iheanacho was signed by the Foxes in a £25m deal from Manchester City during the summer, but he has struggled to make an impact at the King Power Stadium with just one goal in 13 appearances in all competitions – the majority of which have come from the substitutes’ bench.

The centre-forward, who reportedly earns £115,000-a-week at the East Midlands outfit, wasn’t even handed a rare start when Claude Puel’s men faced League One side Fleetwood Town in the FA Cup on Saturday, and the club could be forced to take a loss on him if he is sold.

Southampton fans were quick to have their say on the Nigerian via social media.
