Studio Brat singer, Simi, has released a version of the hugely popular ‘Brown Skin Girl’ originally done by Beyoncé, Wizkid, SAINt JHN and Blue Ivy Carter.
Simi dropped her version on social media on Monday with the message “Isaa Cover.”
Produced, mixed and mastered by Simi herself, the cover has different lyrics and feel, thus qualifying to be tagged a “refix”.
The original track appears on Beyoncé’s The Lion King-inspired album The Lion King: The Gift, which debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 54,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending July 25, according to Nielsen Music.
It has debuted at No. 76 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated Aug. 3).
Simi has previously done a cover of ‘Bad Energy‘ by Skepta and Wizkid among other “refixes”.
