Sifax CEO Taiwo Afolabi’s daughter weds one month after uncle’s death

Mariam Afolabi, daughter of the chairman and chief executive officer of SIFAX Group Taiwo Afolabi, has wedded her lover in a traditional ceremony at Marriott Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

Among those present at the wedding held over the weekend were former President Goodluck Jonathan, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Obafemi Hamzat, Oluwo Of Iwo Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, and Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero.

The traditional ceremony is the first of two ceremonies. The white wedding will take place in Europe.

Qed.ng learnt that Dubai in the United Arab Emirates was formerly the choice destination for the wedding but the family decided to change venue due to the recent restrictions placed on Nigerians by UAE authorities.

The wedding comes more than a month after Afolabi’s twin brother Kehinde died.

Mariam, the bride-to-be, is the group executive director of compliance at SIFAX Group. She is also the chief executive officer of Style Loft Box, a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle mall located in Victoria Island, Lagos. She is also a fashion designer, overseeing her brand called Mazelle Fashion and Studio.

Mariam graduated from the University of Warwick, Coventry, England with a degree in law and also obtained a postgraduate degree (LLM with distinction) in international maritime law from the International Maritime Law Institute, Malta.
