Ooni’s envoys meet Elumelu, Onyema, Wigwe, others

Tony Elumelu receives gift from Ooni of Ife

Cultural ambassadors of Ile-Ife, Morounranti Ashabi and Oladotun Taylor, have engaged high-profile personalities in Nigeria to promote Ile-Ife culture.

The ambassadors, on behalf of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, embarked on special royal assignment during the Yuletide period to greet high net-worth personalities in the country.

The duo met entrepreneur and chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony Elumelu; CEO of Air Peace, Allen Onyema; real estate magnate, Tayo Ayeni; and CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe.

Others whom the ambassadors met are Engineer Adebiyi, businessman and lawyer, Taiwo Afolabi; and Abdul Razak Isa.

The shortlisted personalities were honoured with special gifts and goodwill messages from the Ooni as a sign of oneness.

Mrs Ashabi is a cultural enthusiast and a former aide to ex-Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, on tourism and inter-governmental relations.

Mr Taylor is a historian and filmmaker.

The ambassadors will in the future meet other dignitaries on the royal list like multi-millionaire businessman, TY Danjuma and wife, Daisy; former deputy governor of Osun State, Adesuyi Haastrup; Ogun State Governor, Ibikule Amosun, and others.
