Akwa Ibom Police Command has concluded plans to arraign some officials of Deeper Life High School in Idoro, Uyo over the alleged sexual abuse of an 11-year-old student of the school.

“They (the police) are arraigning those people found culpable, this (Wednesday) morning,” he told Premium Times.

It was learnt that the police detained some officials of the school after attending a meeting at the police headquarters, Uyo, summoned by the Commissioner of Police Andrew Amiengheme.

Spokesperson of the police in the state Odiko MacDon also confirmed to the online newspaper the police’s plan to arraign the suspects. Officials of the school could not be immediately reached for comments.

The alleged victim’s parents had in a letter dated December 22 through their solicitors asked the school to pay N100 million compensation for the torture their son was allegedly subjected to in the school.

The incident became public knowledge after the alleged victim’s mother Deborah Okezie posted a video to Facebook alleging her son was sexually abused by senior students in the school and also starved.
