A Family Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan on Monday remanded skit maker Trinity Guy, born Abdullahi Adisa, at the Agodi Correctional Centre over alleged sexual exploitation of a female minor in a skit.

Magistrate P. O. Adetuyibi gave the order following his arraignment on a two-count charge of conspiracy, sexual abuse and exploitation.

The court also remanded the parents of the 10-year-old girl, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat, 29, for the same alleged offence.

The magistrate did not take the defendants’ plea for want of jurisdiction.

Lawyer to the defendants Oludare Adebayo argued that Section 41 of the constitution empowers the court to hear the matter and pleaded that his clients be granted bail.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel Oluwakemi Arowosaye told the court that the three defendants conspired to sexually abuse the girl.

“Trinity Guy on December 17, 2022, sexually abused and exploited the girl at the Kuola area of Ibadan. Abdullahi was asking the victim the colour of his penis, recording the scene and posting it on social media,” she said.

According to her, the alleged offences are contrary to Section 35 (1) and punishable under Section 35 (2) of Oyo State Child Rights Law, 2006 and also contravened Section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

After hearing the arguments in court, Adetuyibi denied the bail application for Trinity Guy and the minor’s parents and ordered their remand till the next sitting on July 11.

If found guilty, the skit maker is liable to 15 years imprisonment under the Child Rights Law, 2006.
