Please put him and his family in your thoughts and prayers…”

“I can hardly breathe since last night. We spoke a few days ago. How can that be our last conversation?

“Oh, this life!! He was my lawyer and confidant. He was a friend of my family. An extraordinary gentleman. I’m deeply saddened and heartbroken. I’m in tears,” he added.

Afikuyomi was a member of the House of Representatives before he moved to the Senate in the Fourth Republic.
