Agboola died on Friday morning at an Ibadan hospital of complications arising from liver cancer.

“I had just switched on my phone in Paris where the Air France flight made the customary stopover yesterday (Friday) morning when I saw condolence messages. That was how I learnt that my younger brother, Agboola, had passed on. And ever since I arrived Abuja last night, I have been receiving a deluge of calls and text messages. I appreciate everyone,” Adeniyi wrote.

The former presidential spokesman said he regarded his brother’s life as “an act of divine mercy” because he did not know that Agboola would live for as long as he did.

Adeniyi said he would be publishing a book on his late brother whose experience he described as that of an irregular migrant.

Agboola is survived by a wife, two children – a boy and girl – and four siblings, three elder brothers and a younger sister.
