Saraki’s in-law Dapo Ojora is dead

Dapo Ojora son of the boardroom guru Adekunle Ojora and brother-in-law of former Senate President Bukola Saraki has passed on.

Circumstances surrounding his death remain disputed.

The Street Journal, an online news platform, quoted sources as saying the polo buff shot himself in the head.

But some other reports claim family sources attribute his death to accidental discharge.

Mr Ojora was an elder brother to Saraki’s wife Toyin.

He escaped death by the whiskers sometime ago when he had a power bike accident.

Ojora, fondly called Daps, had marital problems with his wife Patricia, a lawyer and an entrepreneur, according to the online newspaper.

“His marital woes were a huge blow to him especially because of the love he shared with his wife, Patricia. And much as he tried to put up a brave face, his marriage problems were too hard for him to handle as he couldn’t bear to lose his loving wife,” The Street Journal reported.

Ojora and wife reportedly reconciled when they teamed up for the wedding of their daughter Tara in their family house in Ikoyi, Lagos. They were seen together at the funeral of Omotola Oyediran daughter of the late statesman Obafemi Awolowo.

Mourning him, a former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode tweeted on Friday: “Devastated to hear about the passing of my brother Dapo Ojora just 9 years after we lost Gbegi his older brother. I knew Daps for 50 years & we played polo together. He was one of the kindest souls that I ever had the honour of being close to. He was a trailblazer! RIP brother.”
