Saraki visits female National Assembly staff assaulted by thugs

Senate President Bukola Saraki on Sunday visited the home of Sandra Davou, a female sergeant-at-arms officer who was assaulted and injured when thugs invaded the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Mrs Davou was roughened when hoodlums allegedly sponsored by suspended Senator Ovie Omo-Agege stormed the parliament and made away with the mace.

“Nigerians like Sandra, who go over and beyond their call of duty must be commended and appreciated for their service,” Saraki said in a tweet after the visit.


Saraki was away at in Washington DC, where he was attending the Spring Meeting of the World Bank/International Monetary Fund (IMF) when the invasion took place.

He was accompanied on Sunday’s visit by Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu who presided over plenary when the Senate Chambers was invaded.
