Sanusi visits Ghana, meets monarch Otumfuo

Former emir of Kano and Khalifa of Nigeria Lamido Sanusi has paid a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at his Manhyia palace in Ghana.

Otumfuo described the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria as an anointed one, adding that through their prayers, Nigeria, Ghana and Africa as a whole, would be blessed.

Sanusi vwas accompanied by the chief imam of Abuja National Mosque, Prof Ibrahim Makari; Ibrahim Abdul Ramani, who represented the Kumasi Sarki Zongo; the Ashanti regional chief imam, Sheikh Abdul Mumin; and the former Offinso South MP, Ben Banda.

Sanusi was appointed as the new Khalifa of Nigeria in March 2021. The position was held by his grandfather, the late emir of Kano, Khalifa Sheikh Muhammadu Sanusi I and recently held by late business mogul, Sheikh Khalifa Rabiu.
