Vincent EnyeamaThe arrival of Nigeria Super Eagles skipper, Vincent Enyeama, caused a row at the team’s Hotel Verviers camp, Belgium after Coach Sunday Oliseh reportedly told him to leave.

Oliseh’s action followed allegations of anti-camp activities against the captain.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that there was indeed a misunderstanding in the camp of the Super Eagles but said it has been resolved.

”Things are no longer at ease in camp. There was an open shouting match between the coach and Enyeama”, said a source shortly after the keeper, who was granted compassionate leave by his French club, Lille, to bury his mum at the weekend arrived.

Oliseh was said to have been so furious that he threatened to work out of the Eagles camp if Enyeama does not leave camp ahead the double header friendly matches against DR Congo and Cameroon.

This will be the first time the former Enyimba shot-stopper will feature for coach Sunday Oliseh’s new look Eagles after missing the last two games against Tanzania and Niger.

He last kited for the country in a 2017 AFCON qualifier at home against Chad in June and his arrival puts to rest questions regarding his international future after he fell out with the country’s football hierarchy around that time.

Meanwhile, six players from the domestic league are yet to be issued entry visas to Belgium for the friendly games.

The players are goalkeepers Femi Thomas and Ikechukwu Ezenwa, defenders Chima Akas and Austin Oboroakpo and attackers Paul Onobi and Prince Aggrey.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu said the association is shocked by the lack of co-operation from the Belgian embassy in Nigeria.

“We are shocked beyond words at the attitude of the Embassy of Belgium in Nigeria. This action is a strange one in international sports. Football preaches and spreads peace and love, but we are taken aback at the attitude of the Belgian embassy in Nigeria,” he lamented.

“This action is not just against a Football Federation; it is against an entire nation.”

Nigeria face Congo DR on Thursday, while they tackle Cameroon on Sunday.
