Ritual killing: Fleeing suspect, Ifeanyi Dike, rearrested

Suspected ritual killer Ifeanyi Dike

The police in Jos, Plateau State have arrested suspected ritual killer, Ifeanyi Dike, who escaped from custody in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Sunday, August 20.

Dike was initially apprehended by a vigilante group in the Eliozu area of Port Harcourt on August 19 for allegedly killing an eight-year-old girl, Victory Chikamso.

He was subsequently handed over to the police who paraded him and accused him of removing the eyes, vagina, finger, and tongue of his victim.

The University of Port Harcourt student, however, escaped from custody barely 24 hours after his arrest, leading to a massive manhunt for him.

A one million bounty was placed on him and the investing police officer (IPO) in charge of his case, Johnbosco Okoroeze, dismissed from service.

“He was re-arrested yesterday night in Jos, the police will call a press briefing on the matter later,” spokesman of the Rivers police command, Nnamdi Omoni, told TheCable on Friday.
