Contrary to news going round on social media, singer Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema is not dead, his manager, Sean Okeke, has confirmed.

Mr Okeke dismissed such reports as ‘fake news’ while speaking with BBC Pidgin on Saturday evening.

He blamed it on hackers who had changed the information on the 19-year-old’s Wikipedia page.

Okeke, however, made it clear that it has now been corrected.

“Rema no die o – na pesin hack wikipedia page put dat fake informate,” he said.

The manager added that the singer thought the whole thing was really funny and they all had a laugh about it.

Other Nigerian celebrities who have recently been victims of death hoaxes include transvestite, Bobrisky, and singer, Sky B.

Born on May 1, 2000, Rema was signed to Jonzing World, a division of Mavin Records in 2019.

He rose to fame with the release of hit songs such as ‘Dumebi’ and ‘Iron Man’ which caught the attention of former US President Barack Obama and wife, Michelle.
