Rasheedat Ajibade: Super Falcon moves abroad after 5 years

Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade has finally moved overseas after five years in Nigerian league.

Ajibade, 19, is Nigeria’s biggest star since the emergence of Asisat Oshoala.

Coincidentally, both came through the ranks at Lagos-based side, FC Robo.

Ajibade joined Norwegian side Avaldsnes on a two-year bargain.

She was a key part of the Falcons team that won the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana.

Having completed ninth in the Toposerien log last season, Lena Tyriberget supported her squad with the exceptionally evaluated 19-year-old flexible forward’s marking in front of the 2018-19 season.

“When you see her age and her benefits – been vital to the U20 group and the A national group, most as of late in the Africa title that Nigeria and Rasheedat won,” said club’s coach Lena Tyriberget on Wednesday.

“You understand that Rasheedat is an extremely encouraging Nigerian national cooperative person. As a player type, she is regularly either 8s or 10s on the pitch.

“She is great with ball, is forward-looking in the amusement and has great drive. She is a player for what’s to come. We anticipate having Rasheedat with us for the following two years.”

The new group season begins in March and Ajibade will be centered around settling in her new environment.
