Police have arrested some of their personnel for allegedly attacking a female official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) in Yaba, Lagos.

The officers allegedly assaulted the official over the weekend for cautioning them after they broke traffic rules by following what is locally called one way.

A video of the victim – a deputy superintendent of LASTMA simply known as Davids – had surfaced online with a serious cut on her allegedly inflicted by the tricycle driver conveying the police officers.

It was gathered that the officers were serving in Area C command in Surulere.

Lagos police commissioner Hakeem Odumosu condemned the incident, saying he would not condone acts of indiscipline.

Mr Odumosu assured that the incident would be properly investigated and the policemen would be punished if found guilty.
