The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has urged Nigeria’s High Commission in London to investigate an attack on rapper, Ruggedman, in the British capital.

Earlier in June, a video emerged online showing four unidentified young men allegedly attacking the veteran rapper in a London restaurant.

PMAN has now released a statement condemning the attack on one of its executives, calling it an attack on the body as a whole.

The letter signed by the association’s president, Pretty Okafor, partly reads, ”The case is currently with the Metropolitan police in London with reference number 3019340/19. We beseech to use your good office to ensure a thorough investigation is conducted to fish out the assailants and bring them to justice.”

Ruggedman posted the clip of the attack on Instagram with the message: “Being attacked by 4 misguided boys will not deter me from fighting for the youths, even though they blindly fight me.”

He said the attack started after the restaurant owner asked if everyone had paid for their food.

He posted another video thereafter, saying he was okay and thanking those who reached out to him.

The musician has since returned to Nigeria from his visit to the European city.
