Oyo State Government on Monday sent a delegation on a condolence visit to the family of Professor Akinwunmi Isola who died at the weekend.

Leading the pack to the late Isola’s house at Akobo, Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Toye Arulogun described the deceased as an epitome of Yoruba culture who left an indelible mark that would forever be remembered.

Mr Arulogun urged the family not to be bereaved but rather thank God for the contribution of the deceased to the development of the country, the upliftment of the Yoruba culture as well as the prestige and honour he has given Oyo State, saying that Professor Isola will remain as a household name in both civil and academic societies.

The commissioner said that the state government will support the burial arrangement of the renowned playwright and literary giant, stating that the honour given to him while he was alive will be replicated with a befitting burial to celebrate a worthy ambassador of the state.

Responding on behalf of the family, son of the deceased, Akinjide Isola, appreciated the effort of the state government for the visit.
