Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has closed his defence before the state’s governorship election tribunal, sitting in Abuja.

After presenting 11 witnesses to the tribunal, Mr Oyetola closed his case on Tuesday.

The governor had on February 1 produced his 11th witness, Adegboyega Adeosun, who was APC’s State Collation Officer during the election.

Oyetola’s lawyer, John Baiyeshea, then promised to call four more on Monday, but on appearance said that his client did not see the need for more witnesses.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the last governorship election in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, had filed a case in the tribunal challenging the outcome of the election won by Oyetola, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oyetola is the second respondent in the suit.

The APC will now open its defence on Wednesday as the third respondent in the case.
