Orits Wiliki celebrates late Ras Kimono on 62nd posthumous birthday

Musician, Orits Wiliki, has celebrated his friend and fellow musician, the late Ras Kimono, on what would have been his 62nd birthday.

He shared the tribute on Instagram on Saturday.

”Yo your departure really made me realise how life can be so unfair and how every plan and every thought can come to an abrupt end in seconds. Today is your 62nd birthday and l must celebrate you my Twiny. Continue to rest in power,” he captioned the post.

Ras Kimono was a reggae artiste who was known for hits such as ‘What’s Gwan’, ‘Kimono De Want and ‘Rastafarian Chant.’

He died at age 60 in Lagos on June 2018.

In an interview with the Boss Newspapers published in June 2018, Orits opened up about his friendship with Ras Kimono and how much he missed him.

The ‘Conqueror’ singer said, “I would miss his company a lot and I can tell you that half of me is gone with his death.

In fact, twins were not as close as we were and there was hardly a time we would not speak together every three hours. When it comes to our music, we toured together and in fact, we played together in Owerri and Port Harcourt recently.”
