Opeyemi Aiyeola backs Laide Bakare amid clash with Eniola Badmus

Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has thrown her weight behind colleague Laide Bakare as the latter continues to call out Eniola Badmus over their recent clash at the premiere of Owambe Thieves, a movie produced by Eniola Ajao.

The premiere, held at Filmhouse Circle Mall, Jakande, attracted a host of celebrities, influencers and music icon K1 De Ultimate, who performed live at the event.

While Eniola and Laide were initially seen dancing with other guests, a video that surfaced online on Monday showed Eniola walking away upon spotting Laide on the dance floor.

In the clip, Eniola was heard saying in Yoruba, “Don’t film us together, we’re not friends.”

Reacting, Laide took to Instagram to post a screenshot of an old chat with Eniola in which the latter accused her of deliberately posting an unflattering photo of them.

Part of Eniola’s messages read:
“What manner of human being does that?”
“Must I be in your picture?”
“Have been calling you and you refuse to pick up.”
“F**k off.”
“You heard me right.”
“Don’t bring your terrible animalistic behavior around me.”
“Stay farrrrrrr.”

Laide, in her caption, claimed she had supported Eniola early in her career when others refused to associate with her.

She wrote:
“I gave you your first major role when no one wanted to associate with you because of your ugly looks and obesity. I spent my hard-earned money on an ingrate like you. All you could pay me back with is to call me an animal? Haa! Eniola! Almighty God will judge you insha Allah. You have started what you can’t finish and I promise you, you must collect.”

In a follow-up post, she shared a picture of herself while taking a swipe at Eniola’s weight loss surgery.
She wrote:
“Even person wey do surgery no near this beauty 1/💯🤪😃. Oni gastric bypass isonu.”

Under Laide’s post, Opeyemi Aiyeola commented, “Alhaja mi 🔥❤️,” expressing her support.

This comes shortly after Opeyemi had her own clash with Eniola Badmus. Last week, the actress called out Eniola on Instagram for dropping a comment under a video of her with a bald look. Eniola had written, “Ope, where is your front hair?”

Responding in a live video, Opeyemi said:
“I understand the way social media is, and that there are a lot of animals in human form. I have only decided to reply Eniola Badmus because of the comment she dropped on one of my videos.”

She reminded Eniola of her past experience with body shaming and expressed shock that someone who once suffered online ridicule would now mock others.

“You, Eniola, used to be an image of ridicule and body shaming on social media. To now think that you, who have experienced that hurt and pain, would come under my video…”

She also accused Eniola of never showing her support in the past.
“You have never helped in promoting anything that has to do with me. You rarely comment on my videos. You rarely even like my videos.”

Opeyemi described Eniola’s comment as revealing of her character.
“You think a person’s beauty is based on physical appearance? You are ignorant. Not only have you expressed your ignorance, you’ve shown the world who you truly are. And I pity the people who have you around as their friend.”

She pointed out that they were not close and rarely interacted.
“We don’t fight. You don’t even know whether I exist. I don’t know whether you exist. You’ve never celebrated me. I’ve never celebrated you. For you to come under my post and drop that comment, you’ve shown the world the real you.”

She also questioned Eniola’s conduct despite holding a public role.
“When it looks like God has answered your prayer, you’ve done surgery, you look in the mirror and think you’re beautiful—and the only validation you can give yourself is to come under my post and make fun of me? Public figure, someone who should be fighting for the youth?”

She described Eniola as a “zombie without conscience or heart,” adding:
“There’s nobody they can’t fight with. You don’t even have to offend them, they’ll just grab you.”

Opeyemi ended her video by appreciating fans who stood by her despite her hair condition.
“God bless you. I am beautifully and wonderfully made. I’m surrounded by beautiful people who love me just the way I am, no matter how I look.”
